Slight Pain In Left Testicle For 17 Year Old

Hi! I'm a 17 year old male and I've been experiencing slight pain in my left testicle. It started about a week or two ago and was so small that I barely noticed it until I started thinking back. But now it has gotten gradually worse. It isn't too bad, but it's enough to cause discomfort. My mother is determined that it is a UTI and has since given me pills to clean out my kidneys, saying that if I don't feel better in a few days, we'll see a doctor.

Now this has had some effect, whereas I do not hurt as frequently or as much. My main concern is testicular torsion. I allowed curiosity to grab hold of me and I regret it very much. Surfing google for answers is a horrible decision and I find myself terrified.

I know I should be concerned regardless of what it is, as the testicle, like the brain, deteriorates quickly when it doesn't receive blood. So is there any way to know that it is not torsion?

Hello,
Welcome to HCM,
Torsion testis with your history is very much unlikely, because there will be severe pain in the affected testis and scrotum.
You will have very excruciating pain and you cannot touch your testis, there will be guarding.
The pain may be due to minor injury to the testis which is very much common, if you are thinking that you are having any infection , there will be other symptoms like fever, urgency or burning micturation and it will subside by the course of antibiotics.
If you continue to feel the pain, I suggest you to consult your surgeon and undergo physical examination and confirm your diagnosis.
Thank you.
