Slightly Painful And Ticklish Throat While Using Harsher Voice. Have The Habit Of Smoking. Diagnosed Possible Polyps Or Nodules In Throat. Remedy?
To the doctor reading this, I am a vocalist who mainly uses harsher vocals and growls. Whilst I am over 90% sure that my technique is correct for this style of singing and shouldn't have problems with it, I have developed an issue with my throat. upon using my voice for longer than a few minutes my throat begins to get raspy, tickles and is slightly painful. When first learning this style of singing I did not have these problems and the problems developed around the time I developed an awful habit of smoking. I have been to a doctor before who said that my problem could likely be due to polyps or nodules in my throat. My question is, is there and if there is what is the appropriate action to heal my throat, can it be done by myself or do I require a visit to a medical practice and will quitting smoking aid the problem or prevent it getting worse or have no effect?
the vocal cord problems are common in singers there are many causes the wrong usage of cords is one of factor you can have allergy to tobacoo and as passes through vocal cords causes inflamation of ords and chronic irritaton of cords the third cause can be gerd as it reflux back into vocal cors causing irritation or you might develop sinuses due to moking causing post nasal drip leading to same you have to investigate according to this and consult doctor to investigate and treat the ause for better results and rx
