Small Dime Sized, Red Area On Thigh Near Groin. Is It A Parasite Or An Infection?

About 4 months ago I noticed I had a small round, about the size of dime, red area on my inner thigh--near my groin . It looked like an almost faint birth mark. Very light pink/red. No pain or itching whatsoever. Since then the mark has grown and is now the size of two quarters. Again no pain or itching. Do I have some kind of parasite or infection?
