Smoker For Years. Occasional Blood Stains When Coughing With Nose Bleeding. Recommendations?

I saw stains of blood when i coughed today morning before brushing,i didn't do any vigorous coughing , amount of blood was less than a small drop. I used to smoke , i have been smoking since last 6 years (5 to 7) cigarette a day. Sometimes i feel a slight irritation on the left abdomen below the rib too.
And also 4 or 5 times in a year i see some nose bleeding too , a small drop of clotted blood when i clean by nose
Let me know how serious is this

Dear friend.

Thanks for sharing your concern.

Lung alveoli collapses due chronic smoking thus increases the chance of infection.

Chances of tuberculosis is also seen more in cases of smokers.Leading to persistent cough, along with blood tinge of vivid type, weight loss, and fever.

sometimes there could be just a small cut in the nasal mucosa causing it to bleed due to dryness.

Therefore in my view it is best to see your physician once and get the necessary examination done to see the lung parenchyma.

Also smoking is injurious to health so try to quit the habit as soon as possible.

Hope it helps.

Thanks.

Take care.
