HI,
Welcome to Health Care Magic.
Based on the information provided, you might well be having BPPV ( Benign paroxysmal positional
Vertigo).
It occurs due to defect in
endolymph in the Semi circular canals of ear ( semi circular canals are three in number in each ear and play a vital role in equilibruim and balance).
BPPV usually occurs due to sudden movement of head or a head or
neck injury , due to stress or lack of sleep. You can notice that the attacks occur at a particular positioning of head.
Coming to the treatment. Labarynthine excercises ( Epley's Manoeuvere) and labarynthine sedative drugs like Beta Histine ( Tab Vertin 16 mg or 24 mg) are used to treat this condition. Anxiolytics like alprazolam may have to be used along with these in some cases. Resistant and severe cases might require
surgical treatment.
Do not worry. It is a common problem among middle aged men. Medical therapy should be enough for you. Please see an
ENT specialist or a Neuro physician and seek his advice regarding treatment.
Wish you a speedy recovery.
