Sore And Bleeding Gums, Using A Soft Brush. Cause?

I take really good care of my teeth but within the last 2 and a half weeks my gums have been sore and have been bleeding even when they are not being brushed. I have even tried using a soft brush and that is too hard on my teeth, I have had to start using a toodlers toothbrush. I am a 20 year old female, what could be the cause of it?

Hello there...There are many reasons for gum bleeding. Most frequent reason being deposits that get accumulated over the tooth. These deposits get accumulated and causes inflammation of the gums. Even on slight stimulation and sometimes spontaneously you would have bleeding from the gums. these deposits doesn't go with regular brushing...hence we advice scaling ( teeth cleaning) for every 6 months...That not only keeps your teeth clean but keeps your gums healthy... Get your teeth cleaned your problem would spontaneously come down...

Hello,
There are a variety of conditions that can cause your gums to be sore. Some ailments
are of dental origin and some are not. You may need professional help from a dentist or
physician.Flossing too vigorously can also physically injure your gums and cause bleeding and
pain and sores. If the condition gets worse, see your dentist immediately.Gargle with warm salt water off and on throughout the day as needed. Rinse your mouth out with fresh water when you're done.Brush your teeth at least twice a day, but use a medium-bristled brush. Use a good toothbrush.Use ice on your gums to ease the pain.

hi there

thanks for the query.

as you wrote blood oozes when you were brushing or otherwise it means your gums and teeth need a professional cleaning in dental office. this condition is GINGIVITIS which worsens further into PERIODONTITIS leading to tooth loss in worst scenario.

start brushing twice daily with mild brush in a circular manner.

use warm saline rinses (half cup Luke warm water + half tbs table salt). rinse with it every day twice after brushing.

some time bleeding is due to vit. C Deficiency, increace intake of citrus fruits and salads .

or take vit c supplements.

bleeding can also b there due to hormonal changes.

visit a dentist for TEETH cleaning.

thanx

regards

Hi,

Thanks for asking the query,

Bleeding gums and bad breath is usually due to gingivitis which is associated with many factors
microorganisms, poor oral hygiene leading to plague and calculus deposition, food impaction due to faulty restoration and appliances, mouth breathing habit, nutritional deficiencies, endocrine changes like menstural cycle, pregnancy, diabetes.

I encourage you to visit a Dentist to find out the exact cause and to get the teeth cleaned.

Brush your twice daily with a soft bristle toothbrush.
Replace your toothbrush in every six months.
Use antiseptic mouthwash solution gargles like chlorhexidine twice daily.
Take vitamin suplements.
Include vitamin C containing food in your diet like lemon, oranges.

Hope this helps out.

Regards.

Hello,
Thanks for writing to us.
As per your explanation it is clear that you have gum inflammation, called gingivitis...when there are deposits over the tooth surface, gum gets inflamed resulting in gum swelling...as the gums swell, the capillaries in the gums gets pushed to the surface and mild stimulation would result in bleeding....get your gums cleaned and gum astringent would be prescribed that would take care of you bleeding gums.
Visit the dentist and pan your treatment according to that.
Wishing you good health...
Regards.

hello there ,

Soreness and bleeding from the gums is the sign of inflammation and it is known as GIngivitis.

It is caused due poor oral hygiene ,improper brushing and flossing that leads to accumulation of bacterial plaque and calculus deep in the gum pockets and root surfaces of the teeth.

Gingivitis presents with symptoms of redness , bleeding gums , swelling , pain ,recession and sensitivity.

It needs to be treated by thorough professional deep scaling of gums and root planing of the teeth to remove all the irritants ,this will help in resolving the symptoms followed by a course of antibiotic and analgesics.

i hope this helps ,

take care.

Dear friend.

Thanks for sharing your concern.

do not worry, it is not related to brush.

you have developed gingivitis, that is infection in your gum tissue.

it can be well cured by professional cleaning of teeth.

you can just make a visit to your dentist and get cleaning done.

After which mere cleaning with medium bristle brush will also help effectively.meanwhile use hexidine mouth rinse to prevent further infection.

hope it helps.

thanks.
take care.
