Hallo. 2 months ago I was at the doc for skin cancer prevention exam. Everything was ok. On my leg, i have a mole (brownish, but not dark, about 2mm in diameter ) and today i noticed that it is a bit tender ore sore, like pimpel. The mole is also a bit raised. It is also a little nit red around. Should i make a prompt appointment with my doctor ? Thanks

HI,

Thanks for writing.

Any change in mole points towards its growth in to melanoma.

It will be better to get it excised and send for histopathological exam which will decide further course of treatment. You can consult a dermatologist for it.

Hope this will solve your problem.Take care.

Dermatologist Dr. Sanjay Kumar Kanodia's  Response
Hi,

Welcome and thanks for posting your query to HCM.

It appears from your query that you have a growing mole. Moles per say are not a problematic thing but whenever there are certain important things then are the warning signs:
1. Any itching or pain over the area of Mole
2. Any kind irregular borders in mole.
3. Any variegated ( different) colors you observed in your mole.
4. Any increase in size of mole (more than pencil tip).

According to your observation the mole is increasing in size and is painful and changing the color also. It is therefore it is better to consult a dermatologist at the earliest for best possibility in the mole. Other wise also the moole can be easily excised form its base and is a very short duration process to relieve your tension.
Hope these informations will help.

With good health wishes"
