Hello,
Welcome to HealthcareMagic forum.
The treatment you took for your symptoms was appropriate and if despite that you have persistent symptoms then it's advisable to consult your physician or an ENT specialist ( otolaryngologist) to rule out any internal inflammation / infection like tonsillitis , sinusitis , pharyngitis or any abscess and other nasopharyngeal disorders like allergy etc.
As of now symptomatic treatment would Include an anti inflammatory analgesic like acetaminophen and ibuprofen ( flexon , ibugesic etc), decongestant like antihistamine ( cetrizine or chloropheniramine like levocet , flucold etc) and thrice daily warm saline gargles and steam inhalations.
Do drink plenty of water and have a nutritious diet or a multivitamin supplement .
Please do consult your doctor promptly if your symptoms are persistent for more than 2 weeks .
Hope I have answered your query.
Wishing you good health.
Regards
