Sore Throat, Nasal Congestion, Difficulty Swallowing, Chest Pain, Headaches. Viral Infection Symptoms?

My 14 year old son started with a sore throat and stuffy nose for two days. Now it is hard for him to swallow , and he has pain in his chest, head aches, (still a stuffy nose), and tenderness in his neck . He swims, and when he does a flip turn, he says there is pressure in his head. He doesn t have a fever. Does he need to go to the doctor, or is this a viral infection?

Hello
Yes definitely it is a viral infection and as result he has developed sinusitis also.
Do the following
1.. Avoid going to swimming pool
2.. Take steam inhalation twice a day.
3.. Hot water gargles twice a day
4.. Take some anti inflammatory like ibuprofen 400 mg three times a day for 3 to 4 days.
5.. Anti biotics are generally not needed in such cases.
Thanks
