Sore Throat, Pain While Swallowing, No Relief With Home Remedies. Suggestion?
hi, i had a cold and it s some how better , but at the same i have a sore throat , which is paining while drinking, eating or swallowing etc. it s badly paining. i tried gargles with warm water with added salt, some home remedies like milk with turmeric etc but seems like nothing is working. it s 4th day now.. could you please suggest any remedy or medication ...thank you so much.

the cold is allergic and the post nasal dripof sinuses in back cause soar throat
and this drip when fall in stomach cause gerd and aggain soar throat due to acid
and swelling of the git oeosophagus
you need to take anti allergic
liquid antacids and lot of water
apply neomycin h ointment in nose bd
and sea water 2 drops in each nose to clear everything

hello and welcome to HCM,
You are most likely to be suffering from an acute episode of Pharyngitis. You need to do the following as soon as possible:
1. Get an ENT consult and consider starting an antibiotic with pain killer as you have been having symptoms for four days without much improvement when it should have become much better.
2. Request your doctor for a throat swab and send it for culture and sensitivity
3. Start anti reflux treatment also in consultation with your doctor
4. Take only warm fluids and do salt water gargle
5. Do not speak loudly or strain when you speak
5. Assess whether you need injections for faster and better symptom control
6. If the problem occurs frequently then may be you can consider removal of the tonsils at a later date.
