Sore Throat, Swollen Lymph Nodes, Red Bumps. Prescribed Amoxicillin. Opinion?
Hi, I woke up with a sore throat on Sunday am - swollen lymph nodes on neck. Overnight Sunday into Monday I developed a sudden onset of itchy scabs on my scalp. Saw dr. On Monday prescribed amoxicillin. Today Tuesday, I have red bumps , petichia in mouth and on soles of feet. Both areas are painful? I originally thought I had Strep throat but could this be something else?

Hi,
This may be strep throat. The painful ulcer might have developed due to fever / illness. Continue the same drug. You may take amoxicillin with clavulanic acid and NSAID for inflammation and pain. Have B complex supplements. With these do warm salt water gargle minimum of 3 times a day before food and plenty of fluids, fruits and vegetables. Apply local anesthetic like dentogel for mouth ulcers before food. These will help you.
