Split Big Toe Nail, Grew Back, Nail Cracking In Same Spot. Treatment?

I kicked our coffee table 3 years ago and split my big toe nail horizontally in the middle of the nail. It was a very long and involved process but it finally grew out after over a year. I m noticing that after being fine for two years my nail is cracking again in the same spot. Why is it doing this? How can I avoid/fix/treat this?

Hello,
Thanks for the query,

There is no permanent treatment for this.

The split must be in matrix from where the nail grows.

Once it is split it cannot be repaired.

Please meet a dermatologist for exact diagnosis.

Let me know if you have any other doubt.

you can ask a direct question to me on this forum, following the below link.
