Spotting After Protected Sex. History Of Irregular Periods. Implantation Bleeding?
I had protective sex exactly 13 days ago. Yesterday (12th day after sex) I noticed about 4 drops of light pink blood in the tissues after I used the bathroom. I don't have regular periods & my last period was about four months ago, & no, I wasn't pregnant. My questions is could I be pregnant now, did implantation occurred yesterday, or it be something else?
Hi and welcome to HCM!
Thanks for posting your query here.
In case of irregular periods it is difficult to confirm about the conception because the exact ovulation cannot be predicted. Absence periods are called amenorrhea. This could be anovulation where there is no release of ovum from the ovary. This is influenced by hormones like oestrogen, progesterone, pituitary hormones like LH and FSH, and thyroid hormones. Protective sex is by using barrier methods or by using contraceptive methods is not mentioned. If it is by barrier method like condom- rupture of condom at any point should be checked. If it is by contraceptive method the timing and usage of the pill matters.
In a normal 28-30day cycle, the ovulation occurs around 14-16day. If conception occurs at this period there are chances of implantation from 14days of ovulation. For example if the ovulation day is on 14th march, on 28th day implantation may occur. Not in all cases we can see the implantation bleeding. The diagnosis can be made on urine pregnancy test. Please check urine for any positive pregnancy. If this ruled out it the spotting could be because of the irregular periods or withdrawal bleeding.
Hope this helps to you

Hi thanks for your question.
The bleeding which occured 12 days after sex could be implantation bleeding as implantation bleeding usually occur 10 days after fertile.period if fertalization took place.Since your cycle is irrgular, get your pregnancy test done 2 weks after bleeding to confirm or rule out pregnancy.
Hope this answers your question.
