Spotting And Cramping, Sore Breasts. Need To Get A Pregnancy Test?

I'm 50 periods only every 3-6 mints for the last yr. last time was spots & cramping April 1st.always had fertility problems. Only gave birth once in 81. Last 2 weeks My breasts both are progressively gettin more & more sore. Hot & now extremely tender. I researched & found possible symptoms during menopause. But now realize last few days I'm so tired can't keep eyes open mid after noon! Husband says pregnancy test waste of money. Advice?
