Spotting During Periods Time, Nausea, Sore Breasts, Cravings. Negative Pregnancy Tests, Going For Scan. Ovarian Cyst?
My last two periods (around the 10th of July and August) have both been 2 days of brown spotting, no bleeding. I took a pregnancy test on 12/8 which was negative. Now I am feeling occasionally nauseous and dizzy but no other symptoms like sore breasts or weird cravings. I would say my appetite has been a little up and down. I am going for a transvaginal ultrasound tomorrow to find out what's going on but I am worried that they won't find anything. Could I be pregnant even thought the test was negative? Does it sound like something else maybe, like ovarian cyst?
Here, blood test for beta-hcg is more confirmatory to rule out late conception. However, TVS scan is best.
In this context, most common cause is ovarian cyst/ PCOD, hypothyroid state, obesity, pelvic infection, stress/ depression, hormonal imbalance, high prolactin etc.
Kindly consult with gynecologist for clinical examination and do the relevant investigation like USG scan, thyroid profile, blood sugar/ prolactin, LH/ FSH etc. It helps to pinpoint the diagnosis.
Hormonal medication is the treatment of choice. Take low carbohydrate diet, do regular moderate exercise to control body wt. Avoid mental stress.
Good luck.
