Spotting With Small Clots After Being Detected Miscarriage Due To Missed Fetal Growth And Heartbeat. Pregnancy Test Positive. Any Ideas?
My doctor told me two weeks ago that I miscarried because of no fetal growth and no heartbeat at 8weeks. Before there was a slight heartbeat and he prescribed utrogestan. It s been 2 weeks since. I am only spotting with few small clots and no cramping. I took a pregnancy test this morning, and it s still positive. All pregnancy symptoms are gone. When will I miscarry?
A positive pregnancy test after a miscarriage has to be investigated. First of all if you have miscarried as told by your doctor, it is important to ensure that the uterus is absolutely clear. In simple, words there should be no retained products of conception in the uterus. For this dilatation and curettage of the uterine cavity should be done. After curettage, the products of conception (if any) should be examined microscopically. A positive pregnancy test after miscarriage can be due to retained products of conception, molar pregnancy, etc.
Consult your gynecologist for a clinical examination and procedure if required.
