Spreading Blepharitis. How To Quickly Get Rid Of It ?
How does one go about getting a cure for Blepharitis out other than on these blogs? I and a friend had it and were able to get rid of it with 2 different products but both had the same ingredient. It was Benzethonium Chloride. My friend s Blepharitis was moving up to her eyelids so she used a facial scrub which started killing it. I tried to buy it on line and couldn t so looked for what other products had Benzethonium Chloride in it. I ended up using WET ONES (an antibacterial hand wipe) with Benzethonium Chloride in it. Finally figured out that Blepharitis is a bacterial infection in the roots of the eyelashes and that is why it takes so long to get rid of it. I used the baby shampoo at first and antibiotics 3 times. Did not work. I used them 4 times a day to start for a week or little more. Then 3 times a day for a month. The next two months were only 2 times a day. There were 3 Doctors trying to find it in my eyes including the Doctor who diagnosed the Blepharitis and prescribed the antibioitics. I was told it would come back. I said it had been 4-5 months. Now it is moving on to almost a year. I contacted Mayo through an E-Mail and another eye research place I called, both were not interested. Is this a problem that the solution seems too simple to be true? I recall that a Dr. from down under realized that ulcers could be treated by antibiotics. His solution was not well received so he infected himself with an ulcer and cured it with antibioitics. There are 2 people who no longer have Blepharitis. Hope this information can get out to help others. I don t know how else to do this. I blogged on a couple of health sites. Please do something with this information as so many seem to have this problem. AAAA
Hello, Blepharitis is a chronic condition and treatment is also required for a long time. The treatment is by Lid hygiene by using lid scrubs and warm compress. Commercially available lid scrubs or baby shampoo or diluted povidone iodine can be used for cleaning of the eyelid margins. Topical antibiotics in the form of eye ointment applied to lid margins. Systemic antibiotics and topical steroids are indicated in unresponsive cases and in cases with complications. Thank you.
