Stopped Taking Effexor For Depression. Feeling Dizzy While Standing Or Walking. Advice?

I have been on Efexor-xr for 14 months for grief related depression.Have had talk therapy & mindfullness help me.Dr reduced me to 37.5mg 4 months ago.have not had the med for 4 days.just a funny feeling in the head now & again
A little vertigo.Feel better these last 4 days when i lie down.Standing ,walking makes me feel a little dizzy.Am i on the right track/ no sadness/tears for last 6 monthss & my dr said i should slowly wean myself now.need another opinion

Hi there, thanks for asking. Dizziness and the symptoms you described are normal when somebody discontinue a medication from SNRI class (like Effexor). Most of the time the symptoms will disappear in the next one or two weeks. However, some doctors believe that it would be better to continue the low dose of medication for a longer time or at least until talk sessions is completed. Best wishes.
