Strained Gums After Cleaning Teeth. How Can I Cure Them?
Hello Sir, 6 years back I went to a doctor to clean my tooth s but he used a sharp device to clean my tooth s and he strained my gums. I never paid attention to that because I was very young at that age but now i feel so embarrassed when people say your tooth are dirty. Please let me know is there any solution to get my gums back and how much it cost.

APPARENTLY there is no way that gums can get any stain from cleaning procedure.
the sharp device used is the ultra sonic scaler which uses vibrations and water to clean teeth and gums.
that reason you are seeing your gums dirty is the gap of 6 years you did nt have the cleaning done again.
go to the dentist and get the cleaning done. scaling will remove all the plaque and calculus from teeth and gums and you will feel much more clean ,confident and healthy.

I would like to tell you that cleaning of teeth is very normal procedure & should be around every 6 months.It is performed manually by ultra sonic scaler which uses vibratory motion along with water for removing stains & calculus.It generally does not harm teeth & not at all causes straining.
Since it has been a long time you went for oral prophylaxis, presently you might be suffering from gingivitis & only treatment for that is scaling.You need to get it done & after that maintain your oral hygiene by regular brushing twice a day.Its very important to brush your teeth in proper manner by holding your brush at 45 degree angulation to teeth & giving gentle strokes.Also rinse your mouth with 0.2% chlorhexidine mouth wash 10 ml half an hour after brushing.Flossing of teeth is another better way of cleaning teeth.

Scaling of the teeth never cause damage to gums , instead removal of plaque or calculus in the gums or teeth will help in making the gums healthy . As you said its been 6years you got your teeth cleaned and now your gums have moved away from teeth this is because of calculus deposition which has irritated your gums leading to swelling and recession .I advise you to see your dentist get your teeth cleaned. And also the dentist will explain you the cause for this condition after examining your gums and will explain you how to maintain them by proper brushing and flossing .

first of all i should make it clear that scaling never cause staining.
pigmentation of your gums may be because of subgingival calculus which is usually not visible in mouth. This is very hard & dark color calculus present below gingival margin.
so i will advise you to visit your dentist & go for a proper clinical check up.
till than maintain proper oral hygiene, do warm saline rinses & betadine rinses.

You are complaining of stained gums , which shows that your gums are not in healthy condition. Since it been a long time you visited a dentist for scaling and oral prophlyaxis , i suspect your gums have undergone severe inflammation and recession which you are feeling as stained gums. we suggest our patients to go for oral proplyaxis that is scaling and root planing for every 6 months, the process removes the bacterial plaque and calculus deep from the gum pockets which are inaccessible areas for tooth brush to reach. This is done professionally to keep good oral hygiene.
i suggest you to visit a dentist and get the clinical evaluation done for your gums , you can even get an OPG radiograph done which will show the entire picture of your teeth , gums and the amount of bone loss and accordingly treatment can be carried out.
