Sudden, Frequent Loud Groaning Loudly In Sleep. Visit To Doctor Needed To Treat Possible Catathrenia?

I'm a 45 year old woman who recently started, every night in my sleep, groaning loudly. It wakes up my son in another room and is honestly, getting on his nerves...and rightfully so. In my research, I found "catathrenia", but that says its rare, but more common in men than women. This has been happening approximately two weeks and I don't know what to do to stop it. Is this worthy of visiting a doctor, and if so, what type of doctor? Is there anything I could try first?

Hi, Welcome to health care magic forum.
Snoaring is a problem concerned with the E.N.T, (ear nose and throat) It usually present in obese persons.
Started recently, and and it is never there before, means it is due either to the cold, or sinusitis.
I advise you to consult an E.N.T, surgeon for diagnosis and treatment.
I usually prescribe to my patient with such symptoms ofloxacin, pseudo ephidrin , ammonium chloride, and acylophynac sodium.
Gargling with luke warm salt water twice daily also will help to control the snoaring.
Wishing for a quick and complete recovery. Thank you.
