Sudden Onset Of A Marble Sized Lump In Neck, Along With Swollen Cheek From Ear To Temple. Suggestions ?
Two days ago, I had a sudden onset of a marble sized lump in my neck , along with swollen cheek from below the ear to the temple on my left side. In addition, my left eyelid feels like it has a stye. It is very uncomfortable, and seems to have become worse as the weekend progressed. I feel sporadic sharp shooting pain near and around the temple and cheek areas. Any suggestion as to what this may be?
Hi,
This is definitely a case of infection in the area of the face you have described. This can occur from a stye if the infection spreads to adjacent soft tissues or it can result from a primary infection in this region also. The marble sized swelling in your neck is an enlarged lymph node which always get swollen when infection occurs in its draining territory. You need to go and visit a doctor immediately as you possibly need antibiotics as a solution to your problems along with other supportive medications.
hi there, you seem to have developed some kind of lyphadinitis due to ?infection on that side of the face either from the ear or eyes. you need to visit your local doctor and get it evaluated. You may need a course of antibiotic to take care of it, In the meanwhile you can take an anti-inflammatory pill to decrease the pain and discomfort. Do visit your doctor.Take care.
