Suddenly Developed Painful, Itchy Pores On Face With Puss. I Am Immune Compromised. What Does It Indicate?

In less than 12 hours, my chin area from bottom of lower lip to under chin in front, localized to mouth width is getting increasingly red, swollen, hot , itchy and painful. Clear liquid oozed in tiny droplets like oil from a few pores but I have stopped squeezing it. I am immune compromised and 54; never had acne. My husband wants to wait until Monday; online info is making me nervous.

Hello

Thanks for posting your query.

I can understand your concern.

It's difficult to opine on a concern without seeing it. I would recommend that you post a picture here.

From your description , it seems to be bacterial infection of the skin called furunculosis.

The treatment would be a course of oral antibiotics like azithromycin. This would resolve the infection.

You will require a prescription for it and I would recommend that you start taking the medications as soon as possible.

Take care
