Suffer From Headaches. Taking Imitrex. Bump Near The Head. Are These Related?
I'm 34 yr old female, I suffer from headaches since I was a little girl about 7 or 9 to be exact, I have been taking imitrex 100 mg for about 6 yrs now, it really help. But I have been getting more frequent headaches for the past 3 weeks and for the fast 4 days I can't get ride of my headache, I take the Imitrex it goes away but that night or the next morning my headaches is back. This morning I noticed a bump on the lower left side of my head, it hurts only when I touch it and it feels hard. It's related to my headaches? That never happened before. What can it be? Should I be worried?
Hi, Imitrex contains sumatriptan given for acute headaches of migraine
Since you headache is persisting and you have noticed swelling L) side of head, you should consult neurologist for clinical examination and fundus for papilledema.
Meantime you can have naratriptan 10 mg and see for response.
You may also require MR venogram brain to sort out the actual cause of headache and treatment planned based on it
Don't worry everything is treatable
Hope this will help you
