Suffered From Jaundice 2 Months Back. Blood Tests Done. Am I Out Of Jaundice?
Hi Doctor,
I had jaundice 2 months back & had my heptatis E was positive.
I had done my blood test done so its started like this
SGOT 1209-1351-521-514-146-174
SGPT 358-428-36-159-13-16
So the current range is SGOT as 174 and SGPT as 16.
It is normal please tell me. Am i out of Jaundice or no?
I dont consume alcohol and i am on full diet that is no oily stuff no non veg items which is bad for liver.
Please reply me ASAP thank you

Based on details you are in the recovery phase of viral hepatitis E.
SGPT value is already in normal range and SGOT will come to normal range by few days ( normal value is 0- 35u/L).
Restrict protein and fats in diet.

Hello,
You have had an excellent recovery judging by your SGOT and SGPT levels.
Your appetite must have improved by now. Try restricting the amount of protein or fats you eat as that stresses the liver (such as seafood, meats etc).
The SGOT will take another month to get into the normal range, so get your results checked in another 4 weeks. Frequent checking does not help as it stresses you - like the 146 becoming 174.
Avoid NSAIDs and aspirin as pain killers. Take paracetamol only if you need to.
