Suffered With Eczema In Past, Skin On Mons Pubis Irritated, Itchy, Dry, Have Hair Bumps. Cause?

I am a 20 yr old African America woman, I ve suffered with eczema in the past. The skin on my mons pubis is very irritated, itchy, dry & flaky, it s worst b|c of so many ingrown hairs, I have hair bumps and pus bumps my skin is much darker than the rest of my skin also. I ve been tested for STDs this month already so I know this is not the case and I ve also been having these issues since I was 16! Can you tell me what s the cause of this, is it eczema, do I need to see a dermintologist? Can you tell me any creams that can be brought from a local store.

Hi,
Thanks for writing to us.
In your case please get fungal infection, seborrheic dermatitis and infective eczema ruled out.
In the interim, Take oral antihistmaine and apply steroid antifungal antibiotic cream over affected area. Keep the area clean with pubic hair properly trimmed. Avoid using harsh soaps ,dettol in this area as can irritate skin further.
