Suffering From PCOS, Irregular Periods. Trying To Conceive, Had IUI. Will Diagnostic Laproscopy Increase Chance Of Pregnancy?
Hi Doc, my age is 28 yrs , wt, 62 kgs and height 5.4. M having PCOS. having irregular periods and not able to conceive. I have been undergoing treatment since last 6 mnths, had an IUI too, bt no positive results. Doc has suggested me to go for diagnostic laproscopy. My concern is how is it going to deal with PCOS and infertility. will this increase my chances of getting pregnant?

hi, diagnostic laparoscopy helps to identify the pathology directly visualizing the ovaries by naked eyes.
so, it only helps to identify few things like any other pathology can be identified (tubal, peritoneal etc). some times they will see the follicle formation after several inductions, some time even ovarian drilling can be done at the same time as an intervention. when intervention is done definitley chances of pregnancy increases.

Hi dear,
your irregular periods seems to be the result of PCOS which itself is one of the cause of infertility.
The gold standard of treatment is laparoscopy where the doctor can take care of the multiple cyst present in ovary (ovarian drilling) or do a wedge biopsy of the ovary ( removing a small piece of ovary )
Simultaneously she can directly examine the patency of your tubes
This do help in increasing the fertility rate. so go ahead
