Suffering From UTI. Diabetic. Blood Tests Done. Advice?

Sir ,

My Mother
aged 61years.
Diabetic for last 13 years.
Has been suffering from Urine Infection .
Was hospitalised for Diabetic Nephropathy on 28th Sept2013, Earlier also was admitted for the same reason in the year 2009.
Now on insulins Novo Rapid 10-10-10 and Levimir Flexpen 0-0-30. Azithromycin 500-1 tab ,

Fasting is now 82. Post parendial in 100.
Serum Urea -51, Serum Creatnine-1.9,
Serum Potasium(K+) -5.7
Serum Sodium (Na+)- 136
Hemoglobin- 11.4
WBC -0000
Neutrophil-79
TSH-2.81
Albumin-+
Pus Cell > 50

Normally in diabetics the elevated sugar give rise to bacterial infection and also it delays healing. So the first line is to control the diabetes and treat the infection. The report of your mother suggest that her diabetic profile is with in normal i.e well controlled. serum creatinine and urea is elevated indicating damage to the kidneys and pus cells indicates infection. As your diabetes is well controlled it will cure the infection faster.
