Hello and welcome to HCM,
The MRI report of the pelvis suggests presence of a normal sized
uterus.
There is a
fibroid in the wall of the uterus. This fobroid measures 1.6x2.1 cm.
Fibroid is a benign growth of the muscle layer of the uterus.
The cervical and
endometrial biopsy is done (small tissue from the
cervix and endometrium is taken and examined) under the microscope reveals:
1. The tissue from the cervix shows normal lining of the cervix. below the lining there is collection of inflammatory cells.
Metaplasia of the cervical glands suggests
changes associated with inflammation.
The tissue pieces from the endometrium (uterine lining) show normal endometrial lining and glands in secretory phase.
In a normal menstrual cycle, there is proliferative phase- ovulation- secretory phase- menstruating phase.
During the secretory phase the endometrium is thickened as seen on the MRI.
thanks and take care
