Suffering From Cough(excess Phlegm) And Nasal Drip Due To Pneumonia

My husband was diagnosed with pneumonia on 2/8. Treated with zithromax, amoxicillin, and then another round of zithromax. He s recovered except for post-nasal drip and cough and it feels like he has something stuck in his throat. He coughs up round balls (small, pale green in color). Has been having trouble sleeping for past 2 nights because half hour after he lays down, he gets coughing fits.

i completely understood ur problem.
actually lower respiratory tract infection is the reason for green coloured phlegm. best u can do is get a culture for sputum and take medicine as per culture and senstivity report that would be 100 percent effective or else u can take a course of antibiotics such as cefexime cv 200 bd for 7 days along with n acetyl cysteine tablets 600 mg in half glass of water tds which will ease clearing up the phlegm. and for post nasal drip he can take tab monteleukast plus fexofenadine 10 mg hs od for a week

i hope this helps
wishing ur husband a good health
