Excessive cough during pregnancy should be dealt urgently. Due to cough abdominal pressure increases intermittently which sometimes may be dangerous. In my opinion you should get prescribed cough supressive drugs from your doctor.
To assess the progress of your pregnancy you should visit your doctor regularly ( i.e. once in one month till six months of pregnancy then once in 15 days till 9 months) and get an ultrsound done according to the doctor advice.
You youraelf can assess the progress after 5 months of pregnancy by regular fetal kicks and by your progresively increasing weight.

Hi,
Welcome to HCM.
Normally flu doesn't harm baby after 3rd month, but fever can harm baby. So try to keep temperature in normal range. For that you can take round the clock paracetamol tablets if required. Don't allow body temperature to remain high for prolonged time.
Baby's well-being can be known by repeating ultrasound, which can show baby's growth accurately.
Hope this helps you.
Regards.
