Suffering From Low Hemoglobin, Low Ferritin Level, Enlarged Spleen, Bleeding Gums, Swelling In Feet And Hands, Weak Bones. Diagnosis?

My mother of age 48 is suffering from low haemoglobin level for last few years. Her current Hb level is 3.6. Her blood group is A+ve. Her ferritin level is 3.39 ( range= 10-12). Her spleen is enlarged. Its value is 84. She is quite weak. Blood comes out of her teeth and gums quite frequently. Her hands and feet swell if she walks for even 5 minutes. Her bones are weak. Can you diagnose her disease?

Pulmonologist 's  Response
thanks for the query
ur history is more or less good
from ur history the positive points are -
severe anemia
low serum ferritin level
enlarged spleen
bleeding from various sites
weak bones
age 48 years
from this info i think pt is suffering from CML ( CHRONIC MYELOID LEUKAEMIA )
though some other info required like
peripheral blood smear to look for abnormal cells
platelet count
peripheral blood basophil count
bone marrow aspiration and biopsy
immunohistochemistory
consult with a hematologist immediately
I find this answer helpful
