Suffering From Persistent Cough & Tingling In Hands & Feet
I have had asthma for most of my life and have had no problems, but as I started running it started to act up and soon I was constantly coughing and clearing my throat throughout the day...it feels like I constantly have to cough. A few days ago I couldn't breath and my chest also felt really tight, but the weird thing was the tingling in my hands and feet. I just started on a new Qvar inhaler...could it be side effects?
The clearing of your throat during the day is likely related to post nasal drip which is also one of the common causes of a persistent cough. Post nasal drip would contribute to your difficulty in controlling your asthma.
It would be treated by avoiding any known allergens and a topical steroidnasal spray. An oral antihistamine may also be needed.
There are some persons that have exercise induced asthma and this may be the case for you. If this is the case then the use of your reliever medication shortly before exercising would help.
I hope this helps
