Suffering From Pneumonia. Tests Done After Blood Transfusion. What Are The Findings? Is It Cancerous?

My dad was suffering from pneumonia from last 10 days and was hospitalized. His is ESR(142) + low hemoglobin(6)..after blood transfusion his hemoglobin reached till 10 and ESR 82 ....General physicain asked us to go to hematologist and he told its not iron deficiency .

What can be cause of this ..is there can fear of cancer ..we are scared

2 possibilities. First, suffering from a chronic condition (chronic pneumonia) leading to above blood abnormalities. Or. Second, a primary blood problem aggravated due to pneumonia. Consult both, a hematologist as well a pulmonologist.
