Hi, I have been scabie desease for over 2 years, I have tried permethrin 5%, sulfur 8% and others, but they don t work. I am 55 year old, and I take pills everyday for diabetic, cholesterol and hypertension. Can I ask one question ? is it scabies and diabetics on the same person is too hard to treat it ? and how to treat it?
Hi,
Thanks for posting your query.
Scabies is an infectious disease and partially treated disease or recurrent infection may persist for long period.
Diabetes is a non infectious non contagious disease and is due to progressive decrease of beta cells in pancreas.
You should consult with internal medicine specialist and dermatologist simultaneously and should go for thorough check up.
You should again recheck for skin disorders as there may be possibility of another skin disorder and you are taking treatment for scabies.
You must take optimal treatment for diabetes , deranges cholesterol and hypertension for living better life and prevention of complications in future.
Take care,
Dr. Mayank Bhargava
