Suffering From Severe Headache, Cold, Cough. Exposed To Pathogens. Is It Bacterial Or Fungal Infection?
Hi, I have been suffering from a severe headache for over a month, at the same time I have an echo in my brain where every noise is amplified and stops me from concentrating. I feel if I sleep I can avoid the noise but it wakes me up. I've not had a cold but I have a cough. I work in a microbiology lab so I am exposed all sorts of pathogens - we do follow health and safety regs but I do wonder if I've picked up a virus, bacterial or fungal infection, this is the second time I've suffered with this in the last 2 months. Should I go to the GP?
Hello dear, The symptoms are suggestive of a Respiratory tract infection/ Sinusitis. As you work in a microbiology lab, the causative agent can be either bacteria, virus or fungus. Kindly consult your GP & get a clinical examination done. Investigations like complete blood count, X ray of chest and para nasal sinus will be helpful. Take care.
