Suffering From Sinus Infection. Injected With Steroids, Taken Cipro. Which Steroid Would It Be?

My son is away at college and suffering from, at least, a severe sinus infection. He went to an urgent care facility in Birmingham Ala where he attends shcool. He informed us that they injected him wiht steroids along with prescribing Cipro, and a Cough remedy. When is a steroid injection indicated and what sterioid would it have most likely been.

Hi, Welcome to Health care magic forum.
He had sinusitis and it is of varying degrees, If there is maxillary sinusitis, it can be controlled by usual medicines. If it extends to the other sinuses like ethmoidal, frontal etc it is difficult to treat, and should be immediately recovered, so doctors will use steroids, the specific steroid is not there ,depending upon the sivearity they will decide the type and dose of the steroid.
Don't worry he will be fine, and they will taper the dose of steroid before stopping.
Wishing for a quick and complete recovery. Thank you.
