Suffering From Throbbing Pain In The Heart Area

Short, throbbing pain in the heart area that comes up randomly for a second...possible heart problem? I have recently had this very short, sharp throbbing pain in my lower left breastbone...it comes up rather randomly, doesn t matter if I am sitting here at the computer, standing, resting, whatever. I don t even know whether to describe it as a pain, but I definitely feel some kind of throb or discomfort in that area which lasts for a second or two. I don t believe that it is PVC, which I have had before, because this short throbbing discomfort is not prolonged, or accompanied by having trouble breathing. Still, it is something noticeable and starting to get annoying within the last 24 hrs. I am 22 years old, currently umemployed and about 8 months removed from graduating college, so it s not as simple as just going to the doctor. I ve had an ecg and other related checkups about 4 years ago that revealed no problems, neither does my family have any history of heart related problems. Anyway, could this be an early symptom of a heart problem, or just some muscle acting up?

It could be a bad case of heart burn or acid reflux.Even though your family had no history of heart related problems,it can still happen to you,or other family members that are your age or younger. If your pain is being considered a discomforting "throb",it could be dangerous,or your last spicy food could be causing a burn in your heart as you probably know as heartburn. If the throbbing pain still occurs continuosly through this evening call a doctor. If the pain becomes unbearable call the ER,or go yourself if you think your OK.
