Suffering With Partial Hernia, Have A Pulling Sensation In Penis, No Discomfort. Cause?
I feel a pulling sensation in my penis, at times, like I have an erection BUT no erection. No pain, no discomfort urinating.I saw my doctor yesterday for another condition I got 10 days ago, Bells Palsy .Anyway-he felt around my scotum area, took urine sample (normal). He didn t notice anything wrong. I do have a partial hernia in my goin area and wondering if that might produce such vague symptoms. I m 62 and worry about prostate , colon cancer, etc. Pressure I mentioned usually disappears aftermoving my bowels. Thanks for any information, MARK YYYY@YYYY
Hi,
Thanks for posting your query.
You can judge your self that do you have organic cause or psychogenic cause for non erection of penis.
All males have erection of penis at waking time (in the early morning) and if this is absent then cause is organic and if this is still persisting then cause is psychogenic.
Diabetes or destruction of autonomic fibres are common causes of non erection of penis.
You should consult with internal medicine specialist and should go for thorough check up.
As such there is no correlation between Bell's palsy and non erection of penis.
Bell's palsy is LMN paralysis of VII cranial nerve.
Prostate cancer must also be ruled out and you should go for Prostate specific antigen as preliminary test.
Colon cancer is associated with altered bowel habits along with bleeding per rectum.

Dr. Mayank Bhargava
What you might be experiencing is a very unusual and unspecific symptom which directly could not be linked to any known diseases condition.
If you are thinking that your symptom might related to any of the mentioned cancer diseases, then I do not think so. But any of those cancers could be related to your age (62 years) and the fact that you are a male. So I suggest you get screened by a urologist for prostate and colon tumors.
Given the fact that after bowel movement, the pressure goes down, it could be as a result of a prostate tumor (since hypertrophy and metastasis could lead to reduced rectal pathway and hence a pressure in your intestines results to sensation of pressure around your penis). Your hernia could also be investigated as you might be having a mild inquinoscrotal hernia which could also give you that pressure sensation.
Hope this helps
