Hi,
General liver dysfunction and metabolic parameters may play a role in the development of IBS in patients with
chronic hepatitis.
Vaccination is the best way to prevent
hepatitis B and protect yourself and your family and relatives from infection. In people with IBS, the body is unable to absorb
vitamin B12 and iron. Thus, they suffer from chronic anemia, so check with your complete blood picture and vitamin B12 level for
pernicious anemia.
As far as
gastric reflux is concerned, visit a gastroenterologist for relevant investigations, till then:
- Do not lie down immediately after food
- Head high position at night (during sleep)
- Take small, non bulky meals
- Take a bland and soft diet
- Avoid chilies and sour or fatty foods
- Stop irritant drugs (pain killers)
As far as antiviral medicine is concerned, it differs for each doctor. Hence, it is best is to follow the guidelines and precautions:
- Check with liver enzymes [SGOT, SGPT, and Alkaline Phospahatase]
- Check serum
bilirubin level monthly to know about the health status of liver
- Complete bed rest is very essential
* Have boiled water for all at home
* Maintain personal hygiene and cleanliness
* Avoid close physical contact, avoid alcohol
* Avoid sharing combs and razors
* Take a fat free diet, high carbohydrates
* No oil, ghee and fried foods
* Plenty of sweets, sugar, sugarcane juice
* All hepatotoxic drugs should be stopped [ask for exhaustive list from your doctor]
* Regularly monitor clinical parameters along with liver function tests
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
