Suggest BP Medication With Less Side Effects

How can I find medication fir high blood pressure that will not cause unpleasant side effects? I feel like I have been run over by a truck. I take 4x 250mg Aldomet and 2 50mg Alphapress per day. My blood pressure readings are still not what they should be. Thank you

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

There are other medications that you can use. All medications can cause potential side effects but these may or may not occur for you.

Aldomet is not normally a first line drug for high blood pressure but is used if the alternatives are not effective.
Alphapress is also normally used for this reason, as add on therapy.

A diuretic (thiazide), ACE inhibitor (Eg lisinopril, ramipril) , ARB (Eg telmisartan, valsartan, candesartan) or calcium channel blocker (eg amlodipine) are normally first line
These all have potential side effects but many persons use them with no problems.

I hope this helps
