Suggest OTC Medication For Swollen And Burning Lips With Pus Filled Yellow Crust

hey! my bf has swollen lips, with somewhat a yellow crust a little bit of clear puss, it burns and itch a little. we were at a festival and it was windy and cold, we used a peppermint lip balm which didn t help. i also got my lips chapped but not nearly as bad as him.... what can i get over the counter?

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of swollen and burning lips with pus filled yellow crust which is because of allergic reaction of lower lip which leads to formation of angioedema. Lower lip biting leads to pus accumulation in it and gives it feel like cheilitis glandularis. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to visit allergy specialist for this. You can go for oral medicine specialist as well. Take antihistamine, anti-allergy and anti-inflammatory drugs combination. Drink plenty of water. Maintain proper oral hygiene. Apply topical anti- inflammatory cream on lips to prevent further accumulation of pus. Keep lips hydrated. Apply petroleum jelly on lips.
