Suggest A Good Expectorant/cough Syrup

I am above 79. I have been taking Eltroxin and Wysolone for Hypothyroidism and adreno-cortical deficiency, since 1974.Currently I am suffering from high blood sugar level and am taking Glucored Forte 1 and half tabs daily which keeps my pp sugar at ~ 189-200 level.I am suffering from cough and cold. Can you suggest a suitable expectorant/cough syrup ?

Pulmonologist 's  Response
Thanks for your question on HCM. In my opinion you should consult pulmonologist and rule out lung infection by chest x ray. Since you are taking wysolone for long time, this makes you more vulnerable to get infection as wysolone is steroid and supress the immunity and cause infections easily. So consult pulmonologist and get done chest x ray. Long term use of wysolone can cause steroid induced diabetes and hypertension. Now a days newer steroids are available and they are less harmful for body. So discuss this thing with your primary physician.
