Suggest A Procedure For Removal Of Ovarian Cyst

I had an ultrasound scan, I have a very painful and bloated abdomen - scan shows pcos and many cysts on ovaries, left one bulky and more cysts and fluid in my pouch of Douglas. I am in so much pain - how can this be removed as I believe it may be infected. Thanks

Hello

Your symptoms need proper evaluation. It is important to know size of ovarian cysts.
It is important to exclude pelvic inflammatory disease(PID),as there is fluid in POD.Fluid in POD may be normally present during ovulation.
PCOD(poly cystic ovarian disease) need confirmation by biochemical and hormone assay.
Bulky left ovary may be due to PCOD or PID.

Generally simple ovarian cysts may only require follow up ultrasound. It may regress in 4-6 months.
If size increases or it causes pain then surgical intervention may be considered.

Get well soon.
