Suggest A Remedy For A Piece Of Skin Hanging Above The Vagina

Hi I put in a tampon yesterday and when I took it out it was very painful but I did it. Then I noticed a long piece of skin hanging above the vagina hole. It s numb so I feel like I could cut it off. But it wasn t there before I took out the tanpon. What should I do I went to the doctor and he said there is no tampon in my vagina so what is this piece of flesh?
