Suggest A Remedy For Jaw-split That Happened After A Jaw Surgery
Hello doctor, Could you please help me! My current ortho referred me to jaw surgery. Which my medical doctor agreed that I had a discrepancy. So I got the surgery on the 6th of this month and having been keying since the 10th. The problem is he refuses to see me till the 9th of june. My jaw is splitting incredibly fast I have about a 4mm gap already give or take. What should I do? I m incredibly worried.
I can understand your concern. As jaws had discrepancy and you went for surgery, chances are that the jaw was split in the middle intentionally, the discrepancy was corrected and the jaws were sutured back together with probably plate, screws and sutures.
Now, if you are feeling that the jaws has started separating again from the middle, then it is possible that proper union between the two sides of the jaws has not completed and it is causing you complications.
I would advise you to visit any oral & maxillofacial surgeon if your treating doctor is not available right now and ask him/her to evaluate your surgical site regarding healing process. If infection has set in, you might need to take antibiotics.
I hope this information helps. Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic. I wish you feel better soon.
Best, Dr. Viraj Shah
