Suggest A Remedy For Pain In Groin, Muscles And Chest In An Elderly Person
Hello, I am a 691/2 year old woman in good health. The only prescription drug that I take(prescribed 6 mos. ago) is Alendronate Sodium Tablets, 70mg. once weekly for bone health. I am noticing some side effects-not severe but causing pain in my groin area, muscle pain, occasional chest pain, a general feeling of not feeling well . Do I need to be on a bone health medication or can I take otc calcium or other supplements that won t cause side effects? Thank you, Karen
Thanks for asking at Healthcare Magic. I read your question and I understand your concern. No OTC calcium supplements are not alternative for alendronate in strengthening bones especially in postmenopausal women. I would suggest you to take calcium supplements along with alendronate. Take pain killer like advil in case of moderate to severe intense pain. Hope it helps best. Don't forget to rate this answer and close the discussion at Healthcare Magic. Take your best care.
