Suggest A Remedy For Painful Blood Blister On The Area Of Wisdom Tooth Removal

I had my wisdom teeth removed a month ago and I am still having problems with my lower left area. I had a dry socket and was given packing with medicine and given another round of antibiotics. Now I seem to have a blood blister in that hole and I am still in a lot of pain and still on antibiotics. I was wondering if this will go away on its own or will the dentist remove the blister and pack it again with medicine?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain in case if you have a blood blister in the extraction socket that developed into a dry socket and has not healed yet you should consult back your treating dentist and get evaluated to check whether the blood blister that you are seeing is exactly blood clot that might be initial stage of healing or is it something else.
In case if the socket has not yet healed you can also consult an Oral Surgeon and get evaluated and if needed he can clean and irrigation the socket with antiseptic solution and pack the socket again and the dressing should be changed every alternate day..
As of now you can also take anti inflammatory painkiller like Advil or Aleve to relieve pain and discomfort..
Do cool compresses over the cheek..
Take a soft diet and do warm saline gargles..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
