Suggest A Remedy For Painful Right Buttock Post Injury

I was playing pickleball and I did something and my right butt cheek starting to hurt. Sitting in the car or sitting in a chair, it hurts. I already have L5 and S1 problems, down my right leg. I have this scrip for nabumetone, will this help or should I do PT. Bob

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have painful right buttock post injury , well the symptoms you mention in query can occur due to many reasons like hematoma , cyst formation , infection or soft tissue injury . I would suggest you to apply cold compresses to buttock several times a day , apply antibiotics and anti inflammatory ointment , keep this area clean and dry and wear loose cloths . If condition doesn't get better then consult orthopedic surgeon for proper examination . Doctor may order CT scan along with physical examination to check tenderness and consistency . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics , anti inflammatory , recommend surgical excision , or may give anti coagulant .
