what would cause a runny nose to be so bad that it is as if one turned on a faucet. I have als, but this is just a cler secretion that POURS out of my nose - right side only, or right nostril. nothing seems to stop it. My als started with swallowing, breathing issues. it has progressed but on my left hand (last 3 fingers), my left arm, and it may be starting in my left foot. YYYY@YYYY NO THANKS. I am not paying for on-line advice, sight of me unseen.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of persistent runny nose and breathing issues which is very recurrent seems to be due to streptococcal infection and weather change due to which there is upper respiratory tract infection. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to visit ENT specialist once and get it examined. You should get X-ray chest done along with blood and sputum tests of child. Till then you should take steam inhalation and apply mist humidifiers in room. Your symptoms will resolve in 5-7 days. If symptoms keeps on persisting start proper medication. You should give DayQuil and advil cold to prevent exagerration of symptoms. Take plenty of fluids to rehydrate.

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Get Well Soon.

Best Wishes,
