Suggest A Remedy For Recurring, Flaky, Itchy And Red Bump Inside Buttock

Good evening. I recently noticed a redish bumb on the inside of my right buttock when it was itching a little. At first I thought it may be a pimple or a little irritation from cycling. It didn t go away and then started to itch more and more. I used some Cortisone and it appeared to go away. After a coupe days it was back but in a more circular pattern. I kept using some Cortisone and it would fade a little then reappear a little higher up on my buttock. I switched to Destin that I got in the baby diaper rash area. I ve been using for about two weeks with no help. It just fades a little then moves a little higher. It appears as a little flaky reddish circle about the size of a nickle. I do have an appointment with PCM next week, earlist available appointment.

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of recurring, flaky, itchy and red bump inside buttock which occurs when there is bacterial infection of hair follicles leading to folliculitis and when clogged pores of sebaceous gland filled with sebum, dead skin and bacteria get infected. The symptoms can also occur due ro allergic reaction , side effects of certain medicine or fungal infection. I would suggest you to maintain environment dry and clean. You should wear loose clothes. Till now you should apply aloe vera gel and apply betnovate cream twice a day. You should consult dermatologist once and get it examined. You can go for antibiotics such as clindamycin or fluconazole along with corticosteroid ointment, hydroquinone, laser therapy for bump on buttock only after doctors prescription. Do not scratch these bumps as they will get infected , leave acne marks.
